Excellent Drift Weekend for the First Lady

Brakpan – Clare Vale took part in the Japan Auto Drift Championship at the Rock Raceway in Brakpan over the weekend. The RAM Mustang was in great form and was a crowd favourite from the start.

The course was quite tricky for the big Mustang, with a tight infield ending on a fast loop around the wall of the oval circuit. Clare was top qualifier in the Silver Cup and progressed through the rounds to the final. After two very close runs against Henno van Staden in the luminous yellow Supra, the judges decided in favour of the RAM Mustang. This gave Clare her first drifting trophy and a hard earned win.

Clare Vale on the event: ”The Mustang has loads of horsepower and it can bog down through the carb on the slow corners. This caught me out a few times until I decided to drop a gear and use second for the infield, shifting to third at the end. The car went really well and we were very happy to gain our first drifting win! It’s given the RAM Team a big boost and we’re now looking forward to our next event down at Dezzi Raceway in Port Shepstone on the 17th.”
