Top 16 for Clare in Port Shepstone

Port Shepstone – The weekend saw Clare Vale travel to Port Shepstone as part of the SupaDrift series. Clare had a successful outing at the Japan Auto Drift Championship earlier in the month, and her RAM Mustang was again in excellent form. Clare became the first lady drifter to make the Top 16 in a SupaDrift event, qualifying in 14th position.

She had the tough task of getting past the experienced Mikey Skelton, who qualified third in his Nissan 350Z. Mikey won the hard fought tandem battle but Clare held her own, and was awarded the Driver of the Day trophy for her efforts!

Clare Vale on the weekend: ”We knew our Mustang was working well, and were determined to put on a great show for all the KZN drift fans. I love the ups and downs at the Dezzi circuit and we made good progress all weekend, qualifying in the Top 16 for the first time at a Supadrift event. It was a tough call, driving against one of the top qualifiers, but the RAM Muzzie has definitely made an impact and we still have a lot of improvements we can make to the car. Winning the Driver of the Day award was the cherry on top for me and for the team, and it was a great reward for the long months of development we’ve put in!”
