Good sideways Weekend for First Lady

Brakpan – This weekend saw Clare Vale take her RAM Mustang to The Rock Raceway in Brakpan for the penultimate round of the Cambees Midas Drift Championship. The last time Clare competed at the Rock she qualified 17th and won the Silver Cup competition. She also had a great outing in the Dezzi Raceway Supadrift event after that so the RAM Team was optimistic heading into this event.

The First Lady looked comfortable from the outset and qualified 13th out of 28 entrants. Clare’s first tandem run was against Zanil Satar, who qualified 4th. They had two close, exciting runs, but despite the crowd calling for a “one more time”, the judges called in favour of Zanil, who went on to finish third in the event.

Clare Vale on the event: ”The RAM Mustang just keeps getting better and better, affirming our decision to stick with the challenging build and development process. The team made some more changes after our successful Dezzi event, and this weekend the car was awesome to drive! Zanil drove brilliantly and we had two close runs that kept the crowd on their feet, so I think we’ll soon be able to challenge consistently for a Top 8 result in the future.”
